Don Francisco de Paula Marin

Don Francisco de Paula Marin was a trusted advisor to King Kamehameha and loved collecting plants. Amongst other vines, shrubs and trees he planted the very first coffee trees in Oahu in 1813, albeit they didn't thrive then and there. Detail from a drawing of Louis-Jules Masselot
